An Invitation to the 2019 SIS Meeting: June 5-8, 2019
As the SIS Recorder and head of the Program Committee, it is my honor and privilege to announce the theme of the 39th Annual Meeting of the Surgical Infection Society: Bringing it Back to the Bedside.
This year, we aim to focus on the reason we seek to better understand surgical infections: our patients. The 2019 program will feature new sessions on the global impact of surgical infections, the use of patient generated health data, and other patient-centered issues in research. The SIS abstract submission site will go live on October 1, with submissions accepted up until Wednesday, December 5, 2018, 11:59pm EST. Special consideration will be given to abstracts focused on patient-generated health data and patient centered research in surgical infections.
Also brand new this year, we will be co-locating our annual meeting (June 5-8, 2019) with the Shock Society’s annual conference (June 8-11, 2019), sharing a beautiful venue, the Loews Coronado Bay Resort, in Coronado, California. With an overlapping day on June 8, attendees from each meeting will have the opportunity to engage with each other as a community of science.
