Prevention and Education Program
Although the treatment of infection maintains a very high priority, prevention of surgical infections
is equally important. To this end, the Surgical Infection Society believes that it is through effective
EDUCATION that decreasing the rate of surgical infections is most likely to occur. The SIS is dedicated
to educating all members of the clinical healthcare team as well as providing educational opportunities
to future researchers and practitioners through the SIS research fellowship programs.
