Please plan on joining us May 2 - 5, 2017 in exciting St. Louis, Missouri for the 37th Annual meeting of the Surgical Infection Society
The SIS is dedicated to educating members and providing educational opportunities to future researchers and practitioners.
As a trauma and critical care surgeon, I have seen surgical infection ravage sick patients and harm previously-improving patients. It is a humbling constellation of diseases that is only becoming more formidable in the era of antibiotic resistance. In training and in practice, SIS guidelines have provided clear, robust evidence for best practices in controlling surgical infection and achieving the best possible outcome for our patients. SIS members have served as mentors and role models in marrying clinical and research practice to combat surgical infections. I hope my participation in SIS allows me to connect with the many notable members to continue learning about surgical infection and its management. Further, after all SIS has given to me, I seek to give back by contributing to the field and help advance our efforts to control over surgical infections.
