    • Recognition at the annual business meeting of the Surgical Infection Society of election to membership
    • Certificate of membership
    • Opportunity to actively participate on Surgical Infection Society committees and to run for elected office in the Society
    • Reduced registration cost for the annual meeting
    • Subscription to Surgical Infections, the journal dedicated to surgical infection

We are looking to increase our membership from just physicians and pharmacists and reach ALL those who are dedicated to infection prevention and control.

  • Congratulations to Patrick Delaplain, MD on Joining SIS

As surgeons, we are frequently involved in many of the causes of severe infection in hospitalized patients, and we have significant sway over both the intiation and duration of treatments. As such, we have the capacity to be a hindrance to antibiotic stewardship or its biggest proponents. I think that infection is a critical, and interesting, aspect of our field that is actively undergoing significant changes. By joining SIS, I am hoping to become more involved in ongoing research efforts by the society.
